Congratulations
are in order for the Negril
Chamber of Commerce (NCC)
on achieving its twentieth
anniversary. This is indeed
a significant milestone
in the development of
Negril 1 and its environs
and it has been accomplished
by strengthening the socio-economic
and environmental conditions
of the communities. This
has been achieved through
hard work and dedication
and the willingness to
partner with key stakeholders
and the citizens in general.
The
establishment of the NCC
in 1983 was indeed
visionary and is a true
example of the power of
the citizenry. Your professional
and diligent approach
has been an inspiration
to others and we note
the results of the Chamber's
involvement in successfully
managing funds from donor
agencies.
It
is my hope that NCC will
continue to lead the way
in coping with the pressures
and challenges of globalization
and international competition.
We at CIDA/CPEC through
our project for providing
human resource development
to the tourism sector
expect to impact greatly
on the tourism profile
of the western region.
We anticipate that this
project will demonstrate
the benefits of cooperation
and commitment among community
organizations and that
ultimately the goal of
economic development will
be achieved.
The
next 20 years will no
doubt call for
greater planning, more
lobbying and innovation
in achieving your future
goals.
